Lana Popović-Maneski

Dr. Lana Popović-Maneski is a highly accomplished individual with a strong background in biomedical engineering and extensive experience in academia, research, entrepreneurship, and innovation. After completing her education at the University of Belgrade, Serbia, where she obtained a Dipl. Eng. degree and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, Lana embarked on an influential academic career. She has enriched the academic community as an assistant professor at the State University of Novi Pazar, Serbia, an adjunct professor at the University of Belgrade’s School of Mechanical Engineering, and a visiting professor at ENS Lyon, France.

 

Her current role as a Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Technical Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) underlines her significant contributions to the field. Lana’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to found 3F – Fit Fabricando Faber, a startup focused on creating products for pacing paralyzed muscles, and Kurage, a French startup where she serves as CTO, developing a gait rehabilitation device called Neuroskin.

 

Lana’s achievements include holding several patents, publishing over 60 research publications with more than 1200 citations, and receiving multiple innovation awards. She is actively involved in professional communities, serving as a reviewer for scientific journals and an evaluator for European Commission programs, and is a member of IFESS and IEEE societies. Her research focuses on functional electrical stimulation, wearable sensors, and the application of AI in motor rehabilitation.
