Katya Klinova

Katya Klinova is the Head of Data Insights for Social and Humanitarian Action at the UN Secretary-General’s Innovation Lab where she works on accelerating beneficial AI capabilities for humanitarian and development use. Before that, Katya served as Acting Director of Research and Programs and as Head of the Labor and Economy portfolio at the Partnership on AI (PAI), where she founded and led flagship programs like the AI and Shared Prosperity Initiative and Responsible Sourcing Across the Data Supply Line. Prior to PAI, Katya had a long career in Silicon Valley and conducted graduate research on the impact of AI on the economic growth prospects of low- and middle-income countries.

Katya holds an MPA in International Development from Harvard University, an M.Sc. in Data Science from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Her work and commentary have been published by ACM/AAAI, Brookings, MIT Technology Review, Oxford University Press, WIRED, Business Insider, Al Jazeera, and many others.
