Juliane Schröter

Juliane Schröter completed her studies in Darmstadt, Kassel (Germany) and St. Louis (United States). She continued her academic path at the University of Zurich, where she obtained a PhD in 2010 and a venia legendi (habilitation) in 2015. As the recipient of an SNSF fellowship, she became an SNSF Professor at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and then Full Professor at the University of Vienna in 2018.

Since 2020, Juliane Schröter has been Full Professor of German Linguistics at the University of Geneva. She is particularly specialized in the analysis of political communication and argumentation, as well as discourse analysis and the combination of digital methods with other approaches.

From 2022 to 2024, she served as Head of the Department of German Language and Literature. She is the co founder and co director of the international research network “KULI – Kulturbezogene und kulturanalytische Linguistik.” Juliane Schröter joined the Rectorate of the University of Geneva on April 1, 2024, as Vice Rector.
