Hugo Morales is an Infectious Diseases physician trained at the Hospital de Clinicas of the University of São Paulo (USP). He has practical experience in implementing sepsis protocol and antimicrobial stewardship programs in different hospitals in Southern Brazil. Faced with this practical experience, he perceived the main difficulties of the current system to deliver the best care to the patient. In a partnership with Jacson Fressatto and Cristian da Rocha, he founded LAURA an Artificial Intelligence health tech focused on designing and implementing scalable and systemic solutions for the entire patient journey. Currently, LAURA is implemented in 40 different health institutions and health systems over more than 30 cities. LAURA received the HIMSS-Elsevier Digital Healthcare Award Brazil and Latin America 2019 award for its positive impact on health care and improvement of health systems.
