Gyungah Kim

Gyungah Kim is a strategic leader shaping global partnerships at the nexus of AI and climate action, serving as Climate and Economic Development Team Lead Manager at the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). She is the architect of the UNFCCC–KOICA “Climate Future Partnership for Means of Implementation” signed at COP29, and a key partner of the UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee (TEC) on its AI for Climate Action Initiative — co-organizing the inaugural AI for Climate Action Forum 2025 in Tanzania, launching the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism AI for Climate Action Award at COP30 in Belém, and supporting the TEC technical paper on AI for climate action launched at the ITU AI for Good Global Summit 2025. At the national level, she organized the 2025 KOICA Climate AI Forum as the opening event of Korea’s Development Cooperation Week, and has engaged with the Presidential Council on National AI Strategy to share potential avenues for deeper partnerships with UN agencies. With over a decade of ODA experience spanning science and technology, climate change, and digital transformation across the Global South, she is committed to ensuring no country is left behind in the AI-driven transition. Gyungah holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Korea University.
