Eva Spina

From 1 January 2024, she holds the position of Head of the Department for Digital, Connectivity and New Technologies at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, where she is responsible for coordinating the Department.
She has held roles related to research and analysis, regulation, support and international activities in the sectors of electronic communications, radio and television, coordination of the radio spectrum, information technologies, and activities aimed at cybersecurity. This includes the NIS Directive, the national cybersecurity perimeter law, and emergency powers legislation. She has also worked on specialized training in the ICT and new technologies sector, including at the Higher School of Specialization in Telecommunications, the allocation of postal services and development, as well as the implementation of industrial policies and support tools for businesses.
Her work covers programmes and projects related to microelectronics, photonics, semiconductors, critical raw materials, artificial intelligence, IoT, blockchain, big data, high-performance computing, and robotics.
Eva Spina was President of the G7 “Digital and Tech” Working Group in 2024 under the Italian presidency. She is responsible for the programme “AI Hub for Sustainable Development”, part of the Mattei Plan, aimed at startups in African countries and involving the private sector and stakeholders in Italy, the European Union and G7 countries.
