Charles-Edouard Bouée is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Adagia Partners, a European MidCap Private Equity firm. Adagia focuses on midcap buyouts in Healthcare, Business Services and Tech Industrials across France, DACH and Benelux, with a hands-on approach and a focus on long term levers and the roll-out of new technologies -and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in particular- to create value with incumbent management.

In the AI world, Charles-Edouard has co-founded Artificial Intelligence Quartermaster (AIQ), a global platform for AI investment, advisory and innovation and has been an active investor in deep tech early-stage ventures as Co-Founder of Alpha Intelligence Capital (AIC), a venture capital fund investing in deep algorithmic science-based AI companies globally since 2019.

From 2013 to 2019, he served as global CEO of Roland Berger, the only global leading consulting firm of European origin, which he led from crisis through transformation to a record year in the firm’s history of over 50 years. He became a seasoned expert in large-scale strategy and reorganization projects, as well as performance improvement and specialized in disruptive innovation and AI.

Charles-Edouard has lived and worked in five countries – France, UK, US, Germany and China. In addition to being a Harvard Business School (HBS) MBA alumnus (class of 1995), he also holds a Master of Science from Ecole Centrale de Paris and a law degree from Université Paris Sud XI. Today, he is on the Advisory Board of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and is involved in various other business and community organizations around the globe, such as the World Economic Forum’s Global Artificial Intelligence Council. He speaks French, English, German and Mandarin Chinese.

He has authored a number of groundbreaking books on modern management and China, such as China’s Management Revolution: Spirit, Land, Energy (Palgrave Macmillan UK, 2011), Light Footprint Management: Leadership in Times of Change (Bloomsbury, 2013) and Re-entrepreneuring: How Organizations Can Reignite Their Entrepreneurial Spirit (also Bloomsbury, 2018). His latest work on Artificial Intelligence, The Fall of the Human Empire (Bloomsbury, 2019) was first published by Grasset in 2017 (original title: La Chute de l’empire humain), three years after Confucius et les automates (also Grasset, 2014). In 2020, Grasset published his latest book “L’ère des nouveaux Titans : Le capitalisme en apesanteur”.
