Bachir Boukherouaa

Bachir Boukherouaa is Division Chief of the Data Operations Division in the Statistics Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), based in Washington, D.C. He leads the development and delivery of major data modernization and AI initiatives at the Fund, including StatGPT — an AI-powered platform providing trusted natural-language access to official statistics — and the Global Trusted Data Commons, a multilateral initiative to make the world’s authoritative economic data AI-ready. Mr. Boukherouaa chairs the STA AI Working Group and is a recognized speaker on AI and data architecture at international forums, including CDAO Singapore 2026. He holds deep expertise in data governance, Big Data, and the responsible deployment of AI in official statistics.
