Astha Gupta

Astha Gupta is an interdisciplinary robotics researcher with a PhD from EPFL, exploring learning and adaptation in embodied systems. Her research explores how adaptive and resilient behavior emerges in biological and robotic systems, with a focus on bio-inspired locomotion, reinforcement learning, and neuro-inspired control architectures. She has worked on amphibious and undulatory robots inspired by salamanders and fishes, combining computational neuroscience, simulation, and robotics to study robust movement and learning under real-world constraints.

Astha has collaborated across interdisciplinary teams spanning robotics, biology, and AI, and has contributed to research published in venues including the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). She is passionate about science outreach, mentorship, and using robotics and AI to inspire the next generation of learners and innovators.
