Alessia Correani

Alessia Correani has recently joined FAO as Innovation Officer – Frontier Technologies at FAO Office of Innovation, Digital Agricolture division. She has over 15 years of experience in digital transformation, mainly in the private sector domain. She has been leading big organizations across different industries in designing, implementing and scaling new innovative business models including AI-based digital products/platforms models, as well as new strategic partnerships creation between private and non-profit. Her main areas of interest are agrifood systems’ transformation leveraging frontier technologies and behavioral sciences, ethical, sustainable and reusable AI based products/assets for public use, particularly looking at sustainable agrifood systems, sustainable and regenerative agriculture, agroecology and gender equality. Alessia has collaborated for a year in the Experimental Psychology Department of Oxford University as visiting fellow, holds a Ph.D in Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience at Birmingham University (UK), a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Neuropsychology at La Sapienza Univeristy of Rome and Bristol Univeristy. She also teaches AI Ethics, Neuroscience principles applied to AI-product and Agentic Systems at Univeristà Cattolica and Politecnico di Milano and supports as Ethical Advisor at the EU for special AI-based projects.
