Advancing social robots for good in education

Advancing social robots for good in education

Today robots play new roles in applications where they provide not only physical support to humans, but also social support. Or even emotional support.

We will present our work on socially assistive robots in education, i.e., robots that provide social support to facilitate children’s learning. We will show how we use the Furhat robot from Furhat Robotics to support primary school children to create stories and develop verbal creativity. This is in line with the 4th UN sustainable development goal, Quality Education, “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”.
