This session will present the concept of an AI-enabled NDC support project designed to help countries strengthen the preparation, implementation and evaluation of their nationally determined contributions. The session will focus on how artificial intelligence can be applied in a practical, responsible and technically robust way across the NDC process, including document analysis, data extraction, consistency checks, policy and implementation mapping, emissions intelligence, and the integration of multiple information layers.

The presentation will highlight the potential benefits for countries, including reducing analytical burden, improving access to relevant information, supporting more coherent links between NDCs, transparency reporting and implementation planning, and enabling better use of existing data and knowledge. It will also underline the importance of standards, interoperability, validation and human oversight to ensure that AI-supported outputs are reliable, transparent and suitable for national processes.

These type of solutions can only be developed through strong partnerships. No single institution can provide all the data, technical capacity, country knowledge, methodological expertise, standards, validation processes and implementation experience required. The session will therefore emphasize collaboration as essential to building a trusted, robust and effective AI-supported system for countries.
