Powering an inclusive future through AI: Connecting the unconnected

Governments around the world have made it a priority to bridge the digital divide through connectivity. Today, still 33% of the global population remains unconnected. That is 2.6 billion people who do not have a voice online and whose voices are not reflected in the data and algorithms used to feed AI. In addition, access to the technology is still far from equal, and much of the global workforce will need to reskill in the upcoming years as a result of implementing AI.

What are governments and businesses’ best practices and solutions to enable digital inclusion and make sure that AI fully reflects humanity? With digital transformation across continents and the democratization of Gen-AI, how can technology be a catalyst for good? How can we address challenges such as bias, social inequalities, disinformation, or potential risks on the Internet with the rise of AI?

In this workshop, we will explore creative ideas, policy recommendations, and global solutions to ensure that the international AI governance framework leads to a truly diverse and inclusive offline and online world.
