As AI becomes a foundational technology across industries, the relationship between AI and communication networks is being fundamentally redefined. This webinar presents Japan’s perspective on AI-Native 6G — network architectures in which AI is a first-class design principle embedded throughout the infrastructure, rather than an add-on for optimization. AI-RAN exemplifies this shift: beyond O-RAN RIC-based automation with rApps, xApps, and SMO, mobile infrastructure is evolving into a shared computing platform hosting edge AI inference for robots, vision agents, and other Physical AI applications. Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), including LEO satellites and HAPS, extend this intelligent fabric toward ubiquitous coverage and disaster resilience — a particular priority for Japan. The webinar also introduces how the XG Mobile Promotion Forum (XGMF), with the Beyond 5G/6G projects and international partners, is shaping Japan’s 6G strategy and policy, concluding with a vision of AI and networks co-evolving as a unified societal infrastructure toward 2030.
