This workshop explores how artificial intelligence (AI) can realize its potential for good while navigating a complex international regulatory environment that spans multiple jurisdictions. Participants will discuss how legal frameworks and industry norms intersect to create both opportunities and obstacles for AI developers, especially when they operate across borders. The conversation will address methods by which regulation can actively support innovation instead of merely restricting it, while simultaneously mitigating core risks such as (data) misuse. By examining policy trends and corporate practices, the workshop aims to chart a balanced course that promotes beneficial AI applications while building public trust.
