  • The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) is set to profoundly impact society. In “Power and Progress: Our Thousand-Year Struggle Over Technology and Prosperity” (2023), Daron Acemoglu and Simon Johnson studied how technological advancements, while promising in theory, often distribute benefits unevenly, primarily enriching a narrow elite while posing challenges to the broader workforce and societal well-being.

In this webinar, Professor Daron Acemoglu presents a range of future scenarios of how AI might reshape the work landscape by 2030. These scenarios depend on decisions made by policymakers, business leaders, and society at large, as well as on the pace of AI’s development. The aim is to inform policy recommendations, encourage proactive strategies within businesses, and increase public awareness regarding the use of AI so that the advancements in AI contribute to a more equitable and prosperous society for all.

This live event includes a 30-minute networking event hosted on the AI for Good Neural Network. This is your opportunity to ask questions, interact with the panelists and participants and build connections with the AI for Good community.
