As an interdisciplinary field of artificial intelligence and neuroscience, brain – computer interfaces (BCI) are attracting extensive attention from all sectors of the international community. The theme of this conference focuses on the technical safety and diverse application scenarios of BCI. It invites international experts in BCI technology and industry to conduct discussions, mainly centering on aspects such as technological changes of BCI, the current status of industrial applications, technical risks and challenges, and standard collaboration. The aim is to promote the safe, sustainable, inclusive and trustworthy development of BCI technology on a global scale, and to facilitate interdisciplinary communication, cooperation and technological breakthroughs in this field.

Schedule

Discuss BCI’s tech evolution—from theory and lab work to diverse uses—so attendees understand its development. Analyze key drivers like neuroscience breakthroughs, material innovations, and model/algorithm upgrades. Explore current prospects and challenges to pave the way for talks on applications, governance, and standards.

The discussion will focus on the opportunities and challenges facing the current development and practical implementation of BCI technologies—for example, the advancement of various electrode chip technologies, privacy protection and data security issues involved in BCI applications, and to what extent BCIs can enhance the quality of human life in the future, among other topics.

Discuss BCI industrial applications, including implantable and non-implantable technical routes in medical, education, security, entertainment, etc. Explore current industrial and core, and further lead to the risks and challenges in technical governance brought by BCI industrial applications.

Focus on exploring BCI standard collaboration in basic commonalities, key technologies, application demonstrations, and technical governance, defining the path for global collaboration in BCI technical standardization. While ensuring collaboration models address needs of both developed and developing economies, promote safe, sustainable, inclusive, and trustworthy BCI development.
