What if young people did not just learn about AI, but used it to reimagine their communities? In this hands-on AIcademy workshop, participants work in teams to identify a real challenge affecting everyday life , such as education, accessibility, public health, climate stress, or misinformation, and design an AI-enabled response. Guided through a fast-paced, beginner-friendly design sprint, they will define the problem, identify users, think through data, fairness, and risks, and build a simple concept for an inclusive AI solution. The workshop introduces AI not as magic, but as a tool that must be designed responsibly, creatively, and for public good. By the end of the session, each team will pitch an idea that is technically informed, socially grounded, and shaped by the people it is meant to serve.

    Learning objectives:

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

    1. Understand how AI can be applied to real community challenges such as education, health, accessibility, climate, and information integrity.
    2. Learn how to frame a problem for AI by identifying users, needs, possible data sources, and potential risks.
    3. Practice responsible and human-centered AI thinking, including fairness, inclusion, and real-world usefulness.
    4. Collaborate in teams to design and pitch an AI-for-good concept.
    5. Build confidence as young creators who can shape AI for public good.
