    The ITU AI for Good Lab mission is to enable developing and middle and low income countries to develop the local AI ecosystems to be able to harness the potential of frontier technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and address the challenges related to AI skills development for the workforce, professionals, government, startups and youth. It provides a collaborative ecosystem that brings together governments, academia, industry, civil society, and startups to develop, evaluate, and scale AI solutions for social, economic, and environmental impact.  

    The Lab contributes to strengthening ITU capacity to respond to the increasing demand for AI solutions based on international standards. 

    The ITU AI for Good Lab consists of 3 key pillars: AI Readiness Assessment and Policy, AI Skills Development, and Public AI Infrastructure through the AI Sandbox. 

    This roundtable will provide opportunities for Member Staes to share best practices and highlight country engagement in AI, and to engage with ITU to benefit from the activities of the AI for Good Lab to support the development of their AI strategy, ecosystem and infrastructure 

    This roundtable will specifically focus on AI strategies, AI policies, and opportunities in experimentation, validation, and implementation using the AI for Good Lab. Regional perspectives regarding AI adoption and its value in the national AI strategy will be shared from the policy perspective. Practical ways of assessing AI Readiness and scaling AI skills using the ITU AI for Good Lab would be discussed.
