AI + Communication technology for a harmonious coexistence between humans and marine wildlife

This presentation shares a practical case of how AI and communication technologies are being applied to support the conservation of the Chinese white dolphin.

China Mobile, in collaboration with its partners, has developed and implemented an innovative solution that leverages AI and 5G-A integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) technologies. By fully utilizing the wide coverage of existing communication networks, the solution has successfully overcome multiple challenges in marine network deployment. It ensures seamless connectivity across low-altitude, terrestrial, and marine environments, while also enabling round-the-clock, full-coverage monitoring of vessel movements in coastal waters.

Deployed in the Xiamen Rare Marine Species National Nature Reserve, this solution has significantly improved the efficiency of marine wildlife protection efforts, fostering a harmonious coexistence between humans and marine wildlife within the same maritime area.
