Mark Anthony Arcayan

Mark Anthony Arcayan is a registered mechanical engineer from the Philippines. He currently studies in the ASEAN Smart City Professional Program at Seoul National University in Seoul, South Korea. His research focuses on smart city policy, privacy by design, and intelligent urban systems. He is interested in how cities can adopt new technologies while protecting the privacy of the people who live in them.
Before moving to Korea, Mark worked as an instructor at Visayas State University. He taught mechanical engineering and joined research projects on sensor systems and water monitoring. He also served as academic adviser to the university robotics society. He placed first in the Philippine Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination and graduated as a Magna Cum Laude valedictorian. He has also studied in Japan through an exchange program.
At this conference, Mark presents his work on privacy requirements for intelligent noise control systems in smart cities. His goal is to help shape policies that make urban technologies both useful and trustworthy. He hopes to continue this work through doctoral study in the years ahead.
