Mitja Lustrek

Mitja Luštrek is the head of the Ambient Intelligence Group at the Department of Intelligent Systems at Jožef Stefan Institute. He has a PhD in computer and information science from the University of Ljubljana. His main research interests are personal health systems and interpretation of sensor data using machine learning. He has been a principal investigator in a number of international research projects. He has been successful in several scientific competitions, including winning the SHL Challenge on activity recognition twice, and placing second in the $500k XPrize Pandemic Reponse Challenge. He has also served two terms as the chair of the Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Society, and is on programme committees of several conferences.
