Moon Choi

Dr. Moon Choi (최문정) is an Endowed Chair Professor at the KAIST Graduate School of Science and Technology Policy, where she founded and directs the Aging & Technology Policy Lab (https://aging.kaist.ac.kr). Her work pioneers AI agents, gamification-based interventions, and policy innovations that empower older adults and people with disabilities, bridging the digital divide and reimagining how technology can serve the world’s fastest-aging societies. A distinctive voice at the intersection of social science and technology, she is the first full-time KAIST professor holding a doctorate in social welfare, reflecting her commitment to humanizing science and innovation at one of the world’s leading STEM institutions. Her interdisciplinary path spans a B.S. in Biochemistry (Yonsei University), an M.A. in Social Welfare (Seoul National University), and a Ph.D. in Social Welfare with a Gerontology certificate (Case Western Reserve University). Professor Choi advises the United Nations and chairs the OECD–Korea Digital Society Initiative. Since 2024, she has been a Research Affiliate at Georgia Tech’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy, and she serves on the editorial boards of Innovation in Aging and Gerontechnology.
