Junyoung Choi

Dr. Junyoung Choi began his career at Korea Local Information Research and Development (KLID) and worked at its Policy Research Center from 2003 to 2006. He later contributed to numerous national projects on spatial policy and urban development for Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport at the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH). In 2018, he was seconded to UN-Habitat’s Safer Cities Programme. Since 2020, he has served as a research fellow in the Smart City Research Department at the Seoul Institute of Technology. In 2023, he became a research fellow and Director of the Center for Collaborative Research at The Seoul Institute. His work focuses on AI and XR-based decision support systems for smart city planning and e-Government. Actively involved in international Conferences like FOSS4G(Free Open Source Software for Geospatial), he contributes to advancing urban policy and research through global collaborations and government committees.
