Yuanfeng Chen

Chen Yuanfeng, male, born in July 1992. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electric Power System and Its Automation from Wuhan University and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the same university. He currently serves as a Level III Leading Professional Technical Expert at China Southern Power Grid Digital Grid Group Co., Ltd. and Head of the Embodied AI Team, with the professional title of Engineer.
He has been deeply engaged in the development of power artificial intelligence and new-type power systems, focusing on five key areas: electricity-computing synergy, embodied AI, edge computing power, AI infrastructure, and national standards. He has achieved multiple domestic firsts and industry-leading results: he led the creation of the industry’s first intelligent dispatching platform for electricity-computing synergy, enabling second-level data collection and multi‑timescale dispatching; developed the industry’s first VLA/VLM embodied AI large models, building a “cognitive decision-making brain + perceptual execution body”architecture, upgrading inspection robots and other equipment from cloud-based analysis to physical execution entities; independently developed the first domestic high-performance AI edge neuromorphic computing module and a series of edge computing products, addressing the computing power bottleneck at the grid edge; participated as a core member in a major special project on power AI construction, and took the lead in establishing the AI Alliance for the Power Industry.

He serves as a council member of the IEEE PES Committee on Power System Operation, Planning and Economic Technology, the IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Technical Committee, and the Robotics Branch of the Chinese Institute of Electronics. He has led the development of 2 national standards, 4 industry standards, and 4 group/enterprise standards, including the national standards “General Technical Requirements for AI Power Agents” and “General Technical Requirements for AI Power Large Models,” as well as multiple power electronics-related standards. He has received honors such as the 2023 Guangdong Province China Youth May Fourth Medal (as part of the “Fuxi” core equipment breakthrough team), the 2025 Second Prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (ranked 5th), and the 2025 Model Worker of CSG Digital Group.
