Yolanda Rueda Fernández

Yolanda Rueda is a social entrepreneur and the founder and current President of Fundación Cibervoluntarios, a non-profit organization that celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026. The foundation is dedicated to empowering people in situations of digital vulnerability by helping them acquire digital skills, supporting digital transformation, and promoting the social use of technology as a means to reduce social inequalities, foster social innovation, and strengthen citizen empowerment.

Fundación Cibervoluntarios has been recognized by the Financial Times as one of “Europe’s 100 Digital Champions”, highlighting it among the organizations driving digital transformation and leading Europe’s digital growth.

Previously, Yolanda co-founded Campus Party (1997–2005) and the ICT consultancy Futura Networks. After selling her shares in both organizations, she dedicated her full attention to Fundación Cibervoluntarios. Earlier in her career, she worked at the institutional level with Red.es and the Spanish Youth Institute (Instituto de la Juventud de España, INJUVE).

Highlights: Since 2026, Yolanda has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Culture of Peace Foundation (Fundación Cultura de Paz), founded by Federico Mayor Zaragoza. In 2021, Forbes named her one of “Spain’s Other 100 Greatest Fortunes”, recognizing outstanding social impact leaders. Since 2018, she has been one of COTEC’s 100 experts, recognized for her expertise in the Fourth Sector. She has also been selected three times as one of Spain’s Top 100 Women Leaders (2011, 2012, and 2016), earning the distinction of Honorary Top 100 Woman Leader. In 2011, she received the Mía Magazine Real Women Award for Innovation.

In 2006, Yolanda also founded Empodera.org, a collective intelligence platform designed to strengthen civil society’s engagement with the UN 2030 Agenda.

Yolanda is a journalist with a Master’s degree in the Management and Administration of Foundations and Non-Profit Organizations, as well as postgraduate specialization in Marketing and European Projects

She is also the curator and editor of a publication series on digital transformation, social innovation, technology for good, and citizen empowerment, with nine editions published to date. The two most recent volumes are Citizen Digital Sovereignty: Under Construction and Dismantling Digital Colonialism.
