Woo Sung Jung

Dr. Woo-Sung Jung is the President of the Korea Foundation for Science and Creativity (KOSAC), a national institution at the forefront of advancing AI talent development and creative education in the Republic of Korea. Under his leadership, KOSAC has emerged as a central hub for nurturing future-ready competencies by promoting artificial intelligence (AI) education across all levels—from primary to higher education—and supporting the professional development of educators through strategic training and digital infrastructure. Dr. Jung leads initiatives that integrate AI literacy into the broader context of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education, empowering students not only to use AI tools but also to understand their social and ethical implications.
A strong advocate for equitable access to AI education, Dr. Jung represents Korea in international dialogues on inclusive digital transformation, where he emphasizes the importance of preparing societies for the AI era through human-centered, values-driven innovation. He collaborates with global partners to shape policies and practices that ensure AI and emerging technologies contribute to sustainable and creative futures.

Dr. Jung has served on numerous national science and technology committees, including the Presidential Advisory Council on Science and Technology. Prior to his current role, he was a professor at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). He received his Ph.D., M.S. and B.S. from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
