Verena Thiel

Verena leads the Advisory & ProfessionalServices Business for Austria and Switzerland at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where the core of her expertise is creating innovative value through new technologies and the potential of data. Driven to advance organizational potential with result-oriented technological capabilities, she advises large-scale transformation initiatives to small and medium-sized businesses on how to bridge the gap between technology, user experiences, and sustainable benefits.

Most recently, she and a team of industry experts have developed a cross-sector data system to ensure food security across the production value chain in developing countries. Important lessons from this engagement are transferable across the spectrum of how technology is applied to improving agriculture: enabling technological accessibility; enhancing data value by enabling trusted exchange; finding the balance between creating transparency, data ownership, and insights for the greater good.

Verena is currently pursuing a doctorate at Reutlingen University in cooperation with theUniversity of Portsmouth. Her research is focused on studying dynamic capabilities to accelerate digital transformation leveraging the coevolution of people, process, and technology.
