Valeria da Silva

Prof. Valéria Loureiro da Silva is the Head of QuIIN – Quantum Industrial Innovation, the EMBRAPII CIMATEC Competence Center for Quantum Technologies and Leader of the Optical Engineering and Photonics Laboratory at SENAI CIMATEC, Brazil. Her present research interests cover the areas of quantum technologies in general with a focus on quantum key distribution as well as the industrial applications of fiber optic sensors and optical imaging and spectroscopy systems. She has extensive experience leading and managing R&D projects and research groups both in Brazil and the United States, with a focus on developing technology for industrial applications. Prof. da Silva is a Fellow of Optica and a member of IEEE. She received the Women of Color Award in the Managerial Leadership category and the People Development Award for Corning Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Division.
