Vaibhav Kathait

Vaibhav Kathait is a Senior Executive at the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi, where he serves as a leading robotics expert specializing in technical training and curriculum design. He leads strategic initiatives to develop advanced AI and robotics frameworks for international organizations, including the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and various Indian government bodies. His work focuses on bridging the gap between academic research and industrial application, ensuring that autonomous systems are accessible and impactful through large-scale capacity building.

Vaibhav’s journey in robotics began during his undergraduate years, where he served as the Technical Coordinator for the Robotics and Innovation Club (TRAIC), securing multiple victories in national competitions such as Robo-Soccer and Pick-and-Place. He has since managed national-level bootcamps, including the DD Robocon’24 event, and has upskilled Delhi Government IT Cadre Officers in emerging technologies.

Prior to his current role at IHFC, Vaibhav developed high-impact research platforms and industrial prototypes for major entities including Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Mahindra, and SVR Robotics. He engineered 6-DOF mobile manipulators and integrated sophisticated vision-based navigation systems for autonomous vehicles.

On the academic front, Vaibhav holds a Master of Technology in Robotics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. During his master’s, he specialized in Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and Computer Vision, completing a thesis on autonomous surveillance robots. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the College of Engineering Roorkee.

He has been a technical contributor and educator at significant events and programs, including the ITU Africa ToT, the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge, and the National Hackathon (AIVidyasetu 1.0). His expertise spans ROS 1/2, deep learning architectures, and the development of autonomous systems designed for both security and industrial logistics.
