UPPER

UPPER is developed as the antithesis of a purely competition-focused device. It is a myoelectric transradial bionic arm that prioritizes a highly functional, ergonomic, and futuristic design with five articulated fingers, moving away from traditional robotic aesthetics to help users feel more human. The prosthesis is manufactured using advanced technical materials, including carbon-fiber-reinforced PLA (PLA-CF) and TPU, ensuring a perfect balance between structural strength and a natural feel. On the software side, we are implementing deep learning models and advanced filters to analyze electromyographic (EMG) signals using both threshold-based methods and custom AI models, allowing for intuitive coordinated control. Furthermore, this year’s prototype is fully integrated with “Monito”, our custom mobile application, which allows for real-time signal visualization and seamless calibration via Bluetooth.
