United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

UNDP will showcase a set of AI-driven initiatives advancing climate resilience, disaster response, and digital capacity building. This includes RAPIDA, an AI-powered crisis assessment tool that uses satellite imagery and geospatial data to generate rapid estimates of damage and recovery needs within 72 hours, and the Risk Anticipation Data Hub, an open-access platform leveraging AI and real-time analytics to support crisis prediction and response. The presentation will also highlight ecosystem-building efforts such as the Africa Centre of Competence for Digital and AI Skilling and the timbuktoo GreenTech Hub, which strengthen public sector capabilities and support startups developing AI-enabled climate solutions. Together, these initiatives demonstrate how AI can drive faster, more informed decision-making, enhance resilience, and support sustainable development outcomes.
