Trudy Kennedy

Trudy has been a public servant for over twenty years, and led DISR’s Critical Technologies Growth team since 2023.  This team has developed and delivered key initiatives under the Commonwealth’s National Quantum Strategy including the Critical Technologies Challenge Program, and the Australian Centre for Quantum Growth (Quantum Australia). In 2025, the Critical Technologies Challenge Program was awarded a DISR Secretary’s Award for innovative thinking.

Trudy Chaired the Commonwealth’s Cross Agency Gender Equity Network and DISR’s Gender Equity Network, and hosted a public service wide 2024 International Women’s Day event with the now Governor-General of Australia, Ms Sam Mostyn AC.

Prior to DISR, Trudy provided policy and governance expertise across a number of agencies, including health and energy – and ten years in environmental policy at the Australian Antarctic Division. 

Trudy holds a Master of Business and Innovation and a Bachelor of Business (and Faculty Medal) from the University of Southern Queensland.
