Tiancheng Zhang

Tiancheng Zhang is Head of the Intelligent Computing Software Business Unit at Cardinal Operations, where he leads the solution architecture, operations, and delivery of Cardinal Optimizer (COPT). He holds a Master of Management in Analytics from McGill University, is a certified AI engineer, and serves as a member of the AI Chip Working Group (TC599/WG3) under the National Technical Committee for Integrated Circuit Standardization.
With extensive experience in technical consulting, algorithm development, and project delivery, Tiancheng has led AI solutions powered by COPT to adoption by enterprises and research institutions across five continents, spanning the energy, transportation, supply chain, and finance sectors. Many of these projects have been recognised by leading industry authorities, including as INFORMS Franz Edelman Award Finalists, and as exemplary cases by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) for “High-Quality Digital Transformation” and by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization for “Industrial Software Innovation.”
Beyond his professional role, Tiancheng is an active contributor to the operations research and artificial intelligence communities. He has been invited as a guest lecturer by Rice University, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), HKU Business School, and CFA Society Hong Kong, among others, bridging the gap between cutting-edge academic research and real-world application.
