Stuart Dee

Stuart Dee is a research leader at RAND Europe and co-Director of the RAND Europe Centre for Defence Economics & Acquisition (CDEA). He focuses primarily on defence capability, technology and acquisition across major UK and European programmes and their national security implications.

At RAND, he has led large studies in the UK Submarines industrial base and in relation to AUKUS Pillars I & II, as well as having had involvement in a wide-ranging body of work in relation to Ukraine’s defence capabilities. He is currently leading large studies on the strategic stability implications of new defence technologies alongside a long-term project which assesses the future operational advantage potential of defence technologies for the UK Ministry of Defence. He is an experienced facilitator of crisis scenarios and table-top exercises on defence and national security issues.
