Stéphane Mermoz

Dr. Stéphane Mermoz from GlobEO received in 2005 the engineer diploma and the M.Sc. degree in signal processing and telecommunications from the University of Rennes 1, France. He holds since 2010 a Ph.D. thesis from the National Institute of Scientific Research (INRS), Canada, and from the University of Rennes 1. He received in 2011 a post-doctoral grant from the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) to carry out research works at the Center for the Study of the Biosphere from Space (CESBIO) where he stayed until 2018, in the frame of supporting vegetation monitoring activities using remote sensing data. Stéphane Mermoz created the GlobEO design office in 2018 and continued his research activities. He participated to almost 20 projects such as the Climate Change Initiative Biomass project funded by the European Space Agency, and EoMondis and Ecopotential funded by the European Commission. He published up to 25 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and is occasionally an evaluator for the European Commission in the frame of the Horizon Europe program.
