Seung-Hwan Kwak

Sean Kwak is the Founder and CEO of Genesis Quantum, a deep-tech company operating across the United States and Korea, focused on deployable quantum and single-photon technologies. He has more than twenty years of experience in quantum communications and photonics, spanning industry, government, and applied research.
He previously led the establishment of Korea’s first Quantum Lab within an industrial organization at SK Telecom, playing a central role in introducing quantum technologies into national telecommunications infrastructure. He later served as a senior executive at ID Quantique, contributing to the global commercialization of quantum security systems and international business development.
At Genesis Quantum, he leads the development of quantum-secure networking, single-photon detection systems, SP LiDAR, and emerging quantum biosensor platforms, with a focus on real-world deployment, interoperability, and standards alignment. He actively represents Korea in international forums while building practical bridges between the U.S. and Korean quantum ecosystems.
