Sarah Mullane

In both research and industry settings, Dr. Sarah Mullane has combined behavior science, data science, technology and to explore what works for whom, when and under what circumstances. In her current position at Johnson & Johnson Foundation as Director, Health Technology, she leverages technology as an enabler to deliver on the impact goals of the Global Health Equity team.

Prior to joining J&J, Sarah completed Postdoctoral Training at Arizona State University focused on Health Behaviors & Technology, co-leading several cross-sector research initiatives from prompt-based behavioral messaging and community-based physical activity interventions to large-scale workplace interventions using wearable technology, funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Growing up in the UK, Sarah earned her PhD in Sports Engineering at Loughborough University where her curiosity for human behavior and technology piqued. It is this curiosity that continues to shape her professional and personal goals of tackling health disparities, driving the debate on digital inclusion, adopting a “fail-forward” mindset and leveraging “Tech for Good.”
