Project Fizzy

Project Fizzy

The project is a collaboration between RWTH Aachen, the TU Delft and Erasmus University Rotterdam.

A distinctive aspect of a ball lies in its inherent playfulness, requiring no prior instructions to engage in physical activities. Introducing a soft robotic ball that can move by itself opens a whole new spectrum of interactions and screen-free applications. The robotic ball Fizzy has a minimalistic design philosophy, utilizing an underactuated drivetrain to move the ball. This will open new paths for low-cost rehabilitation devices and preventative healthcare products that have intelligent features to engage and interact with people in an intuitive way.
