Peter Danenberg

Peter Danenberg is a Senior Software Engineer at Google DeepMind leading zero-to-one development for Gemini, creating production-ready features that gain visibility with top executives including Demis Hassabis and Sundar Pichai. He built the computer-use capabilities that became Gemini Agent and the artifact rendering system that became Gemini Canvas. He co-created Little PAIPer with Peter Norvig, a Socratic learning platform for AI education, and organizes biweekly Gemini workshops with ~350 attendees.
Previously at Google, Peter developed the fundamental reasoning loop for autonomous agents in Bard, launching Bard Extensions to 1.8 million daily active users. He holds a B.A. in Computer Science, Classics, Philosophy, and German from USC and pursued doctoral studies at Harvard, Freiburg, and USC. His work bridges ancient philosophy and modern AI, exploring questions of ethics, agency, and long-term alignment through classical frameworks.
