Palletrone: A Next-Generation Fully Actuated Multirotor Platform

Named by combining “Cargo Pallet” and “Drone,” Palletrone is an innovative, cubic-shaped, fully actuated multirotor platform designed for safe human-drone interaction, versatile payload transportation, and to serve as a next-generation aerial robotic platform. One of Palletrone’s key features is that all propeller propulsion systems are enclosed within its cubic frame, ensuring safe operation even in close proximity to humans. Its flat upper surface allows for easy loading and unloading of cargo, while a thrust vectoring system and a dedicated flight control system enable stable payload transport without altering flight attitude.

Palletrone is currently being developed for a variety of applications, including:

[Palletrone Cart]: Utilizing physical human-drone interaction algorithms, this mode allows users to control the cargo-carrying drone’s movement with their hands, similar to maneuvering a shopping cart.

[Next-Generation Aerial Manipulation]: By leveraging its thrust vector control capability, Palletrone enables high-precision aerial manipulation, making it an advanced platform for aerial physical interaction with an integrated robotic arm.

[AirDock System]: A mid-air docking system where multiple Palletrone units can connect to replace depleted batteries or increase payload capacity during flight.
