Olivier Alais

Olivier Alais is a Program Coordinator at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), where he leads efforts to integrate human rights considerations into global technical standardization. A computer engineer by training, he brings over 20 years of experience at the intersection of technology, development, and human rights. He has contributed to national digital infrastructure programs, online protection initiatives for civil society, and social protection systems across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Olivier was previously a Fellow at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University and is currently a Technology and Human Rights Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Carr Center for the 2025–2026 academic year.
