Oliver Watt-Meyer

Oliver Watt-Meyer

Oliver Watt-Meyer leads the Climate Modeling team at the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence, where he develops deep learning methods to enhance the fidelity, speed, and accessibility of climate models. His broader research interests include atmospheric dynamics, climate change, climate modeling, and machine learning. He is motivated by understanding processes that drive atmospheric variability on timescales from sub-seasonal to centennial.
Oliver also serves as an Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Climate Science at the University of Washington.
He is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, handling manuscripts focused on machine learning applications in Earth system modeling, and welcomes submissions in this area.
