Narankar Sehmi

Naran is a Scholar and Student at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford. He helps lead ‘Oxford Artificial Intelligence Society’, the UK’s largest AI society, having served as head of the Safety & Governance department for the past two years. He is also Chief of Staff at ‘Oxbridge Aix’, an AI incubator and accelerator, whose annual pitch competition finalists have gone on to raise more than $40 million.

At Oxford, Naran brings an interdisciplinary background in Politics, Philosophy and Law to the study of the ongoing AI revolution. His current research focuses on humanoids and robotics, with a particular interest in the effects of conversational, social, and embodied AI systems on the mind and society, within the field of Human–Computer Interaction.
