Mohamed Zahran

Mohamed Zahran is a professor with the Computer Science Department, Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University (NYU). He received his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2003. His research interest spans several aspects of computer hardware architecture, such as architecture of heterogeneous systems, hardware/software interaction, and high-performance computing. Zahran has published many papers in premiere journals and conferences. He served as reviewer panelist with many organizations such as the national science foundation (NSF) and department of energy (DoE), as well as reviewer for many journals and conferences. Zahran is a senior member of IEEE, a senior member of ACM, and a member of Sigma Xi Scientific Honor Society. Beside research and teaching, he is also interested in the history and philosophy of science and writes regularly about them in some Egyptian newspapers.
