Michael Camilleri

Michael J. Camilleri serves as Chief of the Rule of Law, Accountability and Civic Space Branch in the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, where he oversees OHCHR’s work on rule of law, democracy, civic space, business and human rights, digital technology, development finance institutions, and migration. Michael’s prior experience as a human rights lawyer, diplomat and policymaker includes positions at USAID, the Inter-American Dialogue, the U.S. State Department, the White House, the Organization of American States, and the Center for Justice and International Law. He holds a B.A. in History from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
