Melanie Jetter

Melanie Jetter is an environmental health scientist with a strong interdisciplinary background in environmental science and public health. She is committed to leveraging data-driven methodologies to develop and implement strategies that promote environmental justice, climate resilience, and health equity—especially within communities most vulnerable to environmental hazards and the impacts of climate change.

Melanie has a strong foundation in data analytics and statistical analysis, informed by her experience as a survey statistician at the U.S. Census Bureau, where she collected and analyzed complex survey data to inform national policy and research.

In addition to her scientific work, Melanie is deeply dedicated to fostering interest and engagement in STEM, particularly among underrepresented groups. She actively supports initiatives that empower the next generation of scientists and advocates through mentorship, outreach, and education.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Earth, and Ocean Sciences and a Master of Science in Environmental Science, both from the University of Massachusetts.
