Maxime Stauffer

Maxime (Max) Stauffer is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Simon Institute for Longterm Governance (SI), where he oversees the organization’s programs, fundraising, and external engagement. Prior to co-founding SI, Max led and co-founded multiple initiatives bridging science and international policy. He helped scale the Geneva Science-Policy Interface as a Senior Science-Policy Officer, co-founded and directed research at Effective Altruism Geneva, and was a Founding Partner of the SocialComplexity Lab, a firm providing computational intelligence to policy institutions. Between 2017 and 2023, he held Senior Visiting Fellow and research positions at the UN University’s Center for Policy Research, the Geneva Transformative Governance Lab, and the Graduate Institute of International andDevelopment Studies.
Max holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Geneva and a master’s degree in Computational Math from Johns Hopkins University.
