Kara D. Lamb

Dr. Kara Lamb is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering at Columbia University, where she is a senior researcher at the NSF Learning the Earth with Artificial Intelligence and Physics (LEAP) Center. Her research develops physics-informed machine learning methods to improve understanding of atmospheric processes and their influence on climate. Her current work focuses on cloud microphysical processes and aerosol-cloud interactions. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago, and she was previously a research scientist at CIRES/NOAA, where she was on the science team for the NASA KORUS-AQ and AToM aircraft campaigns and the NOAA FIREX Firelab study.
