Ian Nyasha Mutamiri

Eng. Ian Nyasha Mutamiri is a digital transformation expert with over a decade of experience at the intersection of technology, innovation, and public policy. He currently serves as Manager Innovation at the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), where he oversees the strategic coordination of national innovation initiatives aimed at expanding inclusive access to digital technologies. In his role, Ian leads multidisciplinary efforts focused on funding early-stage innovation, strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems, and embedding capacity-building and monitoring frameworks that support long-term impact. He has contributed to the establishment of national infrastructure for innovation acceleration and has facilitated training programmes that equip emerging innovators with practical tools for sustainable growth. Driven by a commitment to social impact, his work is grounded in the belief that technology should serve the public good and uplift communities. His research interests include privacy-aware artificial intelligence, responsible data governance, and the ethical deployment of emerging technologies in low-resource settings. Ian is deeply passionate about advancing inclusive innovation systems and remains dedicated to fostering human-centred digital transformation across Africa and the globe. Outside of his professional work, he is also a hobbyist music producer who enjoys exploring the creative intersections between sound, technology, and storytelling.
